Delaney Rae Quote of the Day...

As we are listening to the song, "Down By The Bay" by Raffi...
"Did you ever see a llama wearing his pajamas?"
Laney's response:  "Are you freaking kidding me?"
Me: (trying not to laugh) We don't say freaking Laney.
Laney:  "oops sorry it slipped out"
I think she learned that phrase while driving with Daddy...road rage???:)

Don't let that sweet innocent face fool you:)

Also, the newest think with Laney is her daily phobias.  I have heard that this is part of the normal toddler phase, but some of these fears just crack me up.  Yesterday's BIG scary phobia....... a dove.  I know I couldn't believe it either but trust me she was terrified!  Screaming, crying, and clinging to me!  I asked her what was wrong and she said through sobs, "A dove! I heard it outside going whoo whoo.  I'm cared (scared) of doves."  So, of course, I asked why?  Her response was, "I'm cared they fly in the house and poop on me."

Some Thoughts for Thursday

1. Delaney has an imaginary baby brother... she wakes him up in the morning, buckles him in his carseat when we go any where, puts him in time out when he's naughty, runs around the house giggling with him, and yells at Carson (the dog) when he steps on him. Sorry Laney still not ready:)

2. Restarted the "sugar diet" this week. In a moment of weakness I stuffed a peep in my mouth...why does sugar have to be so bad:(

3. Got back from CA on Friday. Had lots of fun with the fam and saw Hunger Games with my sis!

4. Finished reading The Lucky One yesterday. I'm not a big fan of Nicholas Sparks, but saw that they were making it into a movie.

5. Took Laney to see The Lorax. She was soooo into it. ***spoiler alert** When the Onceler cut down the last tree and all the animals had to leave I heard a tiny little sniff. I looked over and Laney's bottom lip was quivering and her eyes were watery. When she noticed I was looking at her she started crying quietly. My sweet little girl has such a tender heart. She was so melancholy the rest of the day and kept saying, "That movie was so sad" I kept reminding her that they replanted the trees. Future environmentalist???

Delaney Rae Quote of the Day...

Me: Ewww

Laney(from her carseat): What happened?

Me: A bird just pooped on our windshield.

Laney: Where? (I point at it) Oh, it looks like Mayo.

Ummm no mayo on my sandwiches for a while:)

Delaney Rae Quote of the Day...

Me: Laney go get your pea coat it's raining outside.

Laney: What's a pea coat?

Me: The pink one with the buttons on the front.

Laney: That's not my pea coat that's my poop coat.

Then she came into the living room with this tent on her head and said..." I'm the internet"

Delaney Rae Quote of the Day...

Since I have been so bad at blogging lately, I decided that I would make it a little easier on myself to get back in the swing of it. So, I have decided to share with you a "Delaney Rae Quote of the Day". Mostly because I can't believe half of the stuff that comes out of this child's mouth and then I laugh and end up sending out around 15 texts just to share how crazy she is. So here it goes... Delaney Rae Quote of the Day for Wednesday March 7th...

"Mommy be careful. You walking really fast. Daddy says if you go fast the cops pull you over" (while grocery shopping today)

and from yesterday... "Mommy the wind blowing your hair... it crazy you look like a buffalo"

Tornado

As many of you already know my in-laws home was destroyed in a tornado. Last month and F5 tornado ripped through their neighborhood leaving a path of devastation. Wayne and Nancy lost everything. There were 9 of them huddled in their tiny storm shelter and the tornado came and Thank God they were all safe. Later Garrett and I were talking and he said to me, " I almost lost my whole family." His Mom, Dad, Grandma, sister, brother, sister in law and baby nephew (entire immediate family). The house is gone, their cars are gone, but our family is here. We are so thankful that they were in the shelter and no one was hurt. We were finally able to make it up to Oklahoma a few days after the tornado. They had been sending us pictures and updates, but nothing compares to seeing it in real life. The only word I can think of to describe it is haunting. As we turned down their street all we could see was piles of wood, mangled cars, what was left of the trees, stripped of their bark from the force of the wind, and people rummaging through the rubble trying to salvage what they could of their homes. Needless to say it has been an emotional month for our family. We have made a few trips back and forth to Oklahoma to help out in any way we can. This week they moved into a trailer on their property and are preparing to start rebuilding soon. Along the way they have had many generous people to help and support them and they themselves have been amazing witnesses standing firm in their faith in God, knowing he has a plan for them. (Jer. 29:11) Here are just a few pictures of what was left.

The red car on the right is what's left of my brother and sister in laws red SUV. It was found on the neighbors roof.
